Get fish at this Kansas lake any way you can before it’s drained

There are nearly no limits for those who want to catch some fish at a fishing lake in southeast Kansas.

Anglers can use as many fishing poles as they would like, there are no length or creel limits and fish can be taken by snagging, seine, gig or hand.

The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism ordered a public fish salvage at Woodson State Fishing Lake on Thursday, Nov. 9, because the lake will soon be undergoing repairs that require draining the entire lake.

The repairs can take up to a year, the release states.

Other enhancements may include extended boat ramps, improved fishing piers and shoreline access. Once repairs and habitat enhancements are complete, the lake will be refilled and restocked, but it may take up to several years for the fishery to fully develop.
