Fishing Report
LOCAL
Cheney: White bass/wiper good on points, underwater humps and along the dam using jigs and spinners. Catfish good near riprap or near creek mouths on prepared baits or cut baits. Walleye fair on points, drop-offs and underwater humps using crankbaits.
Council Grove: Wiper fair near windy rock banks on the east arm on crankbaits and large jig/swimbaits. White bass fair on jigs and spinners near rock points and channel ledges. Crappie fair near brush and rock banks 5-10 feet deep on jigs and minnows. Catfish good using cut bait and worms in the river. Saugeye good on worms, jigs and crankbaits near east side flats and deeper points.
El Dorado: Wiper fair to good along ledges or old roads trolling crankbaits or on windy points casting plastics. White bass fair on windy points 7-9 feet deep using jigs or larger plastics. Catfish good in the creeks and upper creek arms during inflows using worms or cut bait. Walleye good using jig-n-crawler or crawler-n-spinner combos on the flats. Crappie good using jigs or minnows in brush 8-11 feet deep.
Marion: Walleye good drifting jig-n-crawlers along breaks and across points. White bass/wipers fair to good along windy shorelines trolling crankbaits or jig and plastics. Catfish fair to good using fresh cut bait and stinkbaits along windy shorelines or points. Crappie fair near brush or other vegetation using jigs or minnows 8-10 feet deep.
KANSAS
Cedar Bluff: Crappie fair over steep drop-offs or around the fish attractors using minnows, jigs and small slab spoons fished vertically. White bass/wipers fair to good along the edges of points and shelves trolling small crankbaits or casting jigs over shallow points and flats. Walleye fair off well-defined points and drop-offs using jig-n-crawlers or jig-n-minnows.
Fall River: White bass good on mud flats trolling spinners or shad imitation crankbaits. Catfish good on mud flats and outlet using a worm, stinkbaits or shad sides. Crappie good using a jig or minnow around brushpiles and rocky shorelines in Rock Ridge Cove, Gobblers Knob point and Brown’s Cove area.
Glen Elder: White bass/wipers good along the Cawker City causeway and river channels west of the causeway and along the dam or on the north side of the lake in coves with strong south winds using slab spoons or live bait fished near the bottom. Catfish good along rocks in Granite Creek, the Cawker City causeway, the south bluffs and state park riprap using dead shad, stinkbaits and shad gizzards or chumming with soybeans, milo or wheat. Crappie slow. Walleye fair along the river channel in 18-22 feet of water in the west half of the reservoir using jig-n-crawler or jig-n-minnow or trolling crankbaits.
Kanopolis: Walleye/saugeye fair to good using jig-n-crawlers using jig-n-crawlers near Loder Point and the tower or in 6-14 feet of water on wind blown points and the dam. Catfish good using cutbait and worms in 4-10 feet of water or shallower in the afternoons/evenings. Crappie fair on brushpiles and in Marina Cove with small jigs and minnows. White bass fair on the river channel edges, rocky points and the dam using jigs and flashy lures. Wiper fair to good using live minnows and trolling soft baits off points and deeper flats.
Milford: Largemouth bass fair to good using spinnerbaits, jerkbaits and jigs on points by flooded coves. Crappie fair near brush, points and coves using jigs and minnows suspended 10’ deep. Smallmouth bass good near deep rocky points using crankbaits and jigs. Walleye fair near flats and points using worms, spoons and crankbaits. Catfish good in the river and near windblown channel ledges in the upper half on fresh cut bait.
Toronto: Crappie good using a jig or minnow around brushpiles and rocky shorelines at Toronto Point, Manns Cove, north side of Duck Island, Woodson Cove and west shore of river inlet. White bass good trolling shad imitation crankbaits or spinners on the mudflats. Catfish good on mudflats and outlet using a worm, stinkbaits or shad sides.
Wilson: Walleye fair to good using jigs and spinners on shallow flats, on shallow wind-blown points and rocky shorelines or use swimming jigs and spinners along shoreline vegetation on the outer edge. Stripers fair on deeper structure, drop-offs near the river channel and near the dam at 10-30 feet depths using live shiners, spinners or shad-imitation jerkbaits. Catfish good near the river channel and off points in water less than 8 feet toward sundown using cutbait, liver or worms.
