AirHogs beat Wingnuts 4-2
Texas took advantage of Wingnuts errors and beat Wichita 4-2 on Saturday night at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.
Texas scored three runs against Wingnuts starter Tim Brown, all unearned.
The AirHogs’ first-inning run can after Cory Morales struck out but reached first when the third strike got past Wingnuts catcher Martin Medina. Texas’ two fourth-inning runs were the result of a runner reaching base on a fielder error by Brown.
That gave the AirHogs a 3-1 lead. Wichita made it 3-2 with a run in the fifth but couldn’t do more damage against Texas starter Griffin Russell and three relievers.
Texas added a run in the ninth off Wichita reliever Frankie Reed.
