Wingnuts rally for win at St. Paul
The Wingnuts dug out of a six-run hole and beat the Saints 10-8 on Wednesday night in St. Paul, Minn.
The Saints chased Wingnuts starter Eddie Medina during a four-run fourth inning, taking an 8-2 lead. St. Paul’s David Bergin hit a two-run homer in the first, and had two-run singles in the third and fourth innings.
A two-out error by Saints third baseman Nate Hanson preceded Brennen Salgado’s three-run homer in the fifth that pulled the Wingnuts within 8-5.
Wichita took the lead with four runs in the sixth. T.J. Mittelstaedt and Matt Chavez each had run-scoring singles, and Martin Medina drove in two more with a two-out single.
The Wingnuts tacked on a run in the eighth when Chavez homered.
