Wingnuts get back on track with win
The Wingnuts piled up nine runs in the first four innings on the way to snapping a season-high four-game losing streak, beating the Saints 11-1 on Tuesday afternoon in St. Paul, Minn.
Saints starter Corey Williams walked in two runs in the first inning, then in the third inning Brent Dean and Leo Vargas each drove in a run with a two-out single to make it 4-0. A five-run fourth inning blew open the game.
Brent Clevlen had three hits and scored three runs for the Wingnuts, and Matt Chavez drove in three.
Wingnuts starter Alex Boshers blanked the Saints for six innings before allowing a solo homer in the seventh. Boshers improved to 11-3. He has won his last eight decisions.
