Chavez’s home runs lead Wingnuts past Lincoln
Matt Chavez hit two home runs and drove in three runs to lead the Wingnuts to a 4-1 victory over the Lincoln Saltdogs on Saturday night in Lincoln, Neb.
Chavez, the Wingnuts’ first baseman, hit a two-run shot in the first inning and a solo shot in the sixth inning. DH Brennen Salgado added a solo home in the second inning.
Wingnuts starter Alex Boshers pitched seven innings to win his ninth game. He allowed one earned run on nine hits.
