Lemurs thump Wingnuts 12-1
Laredo buried the Wingnuts under late-inning runs in a 12-1 Lemurs win Friday night in Laredo, Texas.
After taking a 3-1 lead with two runs in the third, the teams traded scoreless innings through the middle third of the game. That changed in the seventh when the Lemurs scored four off Wingnuts starter Todd Kibby and reliever Chad Nading. Laredo tacked on five more runs in the eighth against Fabian Roman.
Laredo’s Leandro Castro hit a solo home run in the first, and a three-run homer in the eighth.
The start of the game was delayed about 40 minutes by rain. The game was halted with one out in the ninth inning when the rain returned, and was made official about a half hour later.
Center fielder Harrison Kain returned to the Wingnuts lineup for the first time in two weeks.
