Alex Boshers’ pitching leads Wingnuts to another win

Alex Boshers pitched eight solid innings and the Wingnuts beat Texas 6-1 on Thursday night in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Boshers, who threw complete games in two of his last three starts, allowed five singles and a walk while striking out five. Texas’ lone run came on a two-out single in the fourth inning.

By then the Wingnuts already had five runs. Christian Stringer led off the game with a triple and scored on a Zack Cox groundout. Brent Clevlen’s two-run triple was the big hit in a three-run third inning that gave Boshers a 5-0 cushion.

The Wingnuts return home Friday to start a six-game homestand. After that they hit the road for nearly three weeks during the NBC World Series.
