Wingnuts beat Laredo 4-3 for 12th win in 14 games
Five consecutive Wingnuts reached base with two outs in the fifth inning, producing three runs that helped Wichita win 4-3 on Tuesday night in Laredo, Texas.
Laredo took a 3-0 lead in the third inning with three unearned runs. Wichita scored once in the fourth, the took the lead in the fifth. After two outs in the fifth, Brent Clevlen singled, T.J. Mittelstaedt drew a walk, then Dustin Geiger, Richard Prigatano and Harrison Kain each hit run-scoring singles.
Wingnuts starter Alex Boshers allowed 13 baserunners in six innings, but only allowed runs in the third. He was helped by three double plays.
Wichita has won 12 of its last 14 games and leads the American Associated South Division by 1 1/2 games over Laredo.
