Fargo’s Tyler Herron shuts out Wingnuts
Fargo-Moorhead’s Tyler Herron pitched a three-hit shutout, leading the RedHawks to an 8-0 win over the Wingnuts on Saturday night at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.
Herron has been the American Association’s most dominant pitcher through the first month, entering Saturday’s game with a 0.90 ERA in five starts. He began the season with a scoreless streak that reached 30 2/3 innings before Gary pushed a run across in the eighth inning of his fourth start.
Fargo-Moorhead scored two runs in the second inning Saturday and two more in the third off Wingnuts starter Tim Brown, then added another three in the fifth. Josh Mazzola and Brian Humphries hit home runs.
The teams wrap up three-game series at 1 p.m. Sunday.
