Wingnuts edge AirHogs 7-6 for sixth straight win
Brent Clevlen led off the ninth inning with a double and scored on a seingle by Martin Medina, helping the Wingnuts win their sixth straight, beating the AirgHogs 7-6 on Saturday night in Amarillo, Texas.
Wichita led 6-0 after a four-run fifth inning. Texas got to Wingnuts starter Eddie Medina for two runs in the fifth and another in the sixth, then added three more runs off relievers Chase Johnson and Fabian Roman to pull even after eight innings.
All nine Wingnuts players had at least one hit.
Frankie Reed pitched around a leadoff single in the bottom of the ninth and got the save.
The teams wrap up a four-game series Sunday. The Wingnuts return home Tuesday to begin a six-game homestand.
