Joplin blasts Wingnuts 19-10
Joplin piled up 24 hits against five Wingnuts pitchers and scored runs in seven innings, beating Wichita 19-10 on Tuesday night in Joplin, Mo.
Joplin took control with an eight-run second inning against Wingnuts starter Jon Link, using eight singles, two Wingnuts errors and a wild pitch to take an 9-3 lead.
Wichita cut it to 8-6 in the top of the third, but Joplin scored a run in the bottom of the third and two more in the fourth to re-establish a six-run lead. The Wingnuts never got closer than five runs the rest of the night.
Every Joplin player had at least two hits and one RBI, and eight of the nine Blasters scored a run.
The Wingnuts got home runs from Brent Clevlen, Matt Chavez and Richard Prigatano.
