The Wingnuts used a four-run third inning to take control and beat Gary SouthShore 5-2 on Thursday night in Game 2 of their American Association playoff series in Gary, Ind.

The Wingnuts lead the best-of-5 series 2-0. Game 3 is 7:05 p.m. Saturday at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium; if needed, the fourth and fifth games will also be in Wichita.

Brennen Salgado led off the third with a double, the only extra-base hit in the inning for the Wingnuts. Christian Stringer drove in two runs with a single.

Alex Boshers pitched the first five innings and got the win. Four relievers each added a scoreless inning.
