Kain lifts Wingnuts past Fargo with ninth-inning single
Harrison Kain’s single in the ninth inning brought in the game-winning run for a 2-1 Wingnuts victory over Fargo-Moorhead in an American Association game on Sunday at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.
Wichita (19-10) loaded the bases with one out in a tie game, then Kain’s fly ball to right field was lost in the sun to end the game, scoring Brennen Salgado.
Wingnuts starter Jordan Cooper and Fargo starter Tyler Alexander shut out opponents for seven innings.
Wichita travels to Salina to play the Stockade for three games beginning Monday. Salina has lost 28 of 30 games this season as a one-season fill-in team for the league.
