T-Bones end Wingnuts’ six-game winning streak
The T-Bones scored five runs in the first two innings and went on to a 7-5 win over the Wingnuts on Wednesday at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium, ending Wichita’s six-game winning streak.
Brennen Salgado and Zac Fisher hit run-scoring singles for the Wingnuts in the bottom of the second to make it 5-2, and Fisher hit a solo homer in the fifth cut the deficit to 5-3.
Jordan Edgerton hit a two-run homer in the sixth to give Kansas City a 7-3 lead. The Wingnuts cut the margin back to two runs on Matt Chavez’s two-run homer in the eighth.
Starter Alex Boshers lasted six innings and allowed all seven KC runs.
The four-game series concludes Thursday night. The Wingnuts won the first two games, including a 15-3 win Tuesday night that saw the Wingnuts pound out 20 hits.
