Mavericks shut out Thunder 4-0
The Missouri Mavericks beat the Thunder 4-0 on Saturday night in Independence, Mo.
After a scoreless first period the Mavericks took a 1-0 lead 34 seconds into the second period with Sebastien Thinel scored. Jack Downing added two goals later in the period to make it 3-0, and Landon Oslanski completed the scoring early in the third period.
Mavericks goalie Mike Clemente would have received credit for a shutout, but he and Thunder goalie Tyler Bunz were sent off for fighting with a little over a minute left in the game during a melee that resulted in five players being sent to the locker room.
