Allen stops Thunder winning streak

The Thunder’s four-game winning streak ended Sunday when host Allen scored three second-period goals in a 3-2 ECHL victory.

Wichita tied the score at 1-1 midway through the second period on an Ian Duval goal, with assists to Ian Lowe and Eric Meland. But Allen took the lead less than two minutes later on a Kyle Follmer goal, followed four minutes later by Tyler Ludwig’s power-play goal.

Nikita Kashirsky got Wichita within a rebound goal at 12:56 of the third period on assists from RG Flath and Todd Hosmer, but the Thunder never got the equalizer. Wichita was 0 for 3 on power plays.

Allen has won three straight games.

The Thunder plays games at Quad City on Wednesday and Friday before returning to Intrust Bank Arena for games against Evansville on Saturday and Sunday.
