Danick Gauthier’s overtime goal ends Thunder losing streak
Danick Gauthier scored 1:21 into overtime, giving the Thunder a 3-2 win over the Oilers on Friday night in Tulsa and ending a seven-game losing streak.
Gauthier’s goal came with an assist from Landon Oslanski, and rescued the win after the Thunder lost a two-goal lead in the final three minutes of regulation.
Andrew Huff scored both Thunder goals in regulation. His first goal came at 15:26 of the first with an assist from Kenton Miller, and the scond came on a power play early in the second period.
The Thunder maintained the two-goal lead until the final minutes, but Tulsa got the game to overtime with goals 2:17 apart — the scond coming with 38 seconds left in the third period.
The teams play again Saturday night in Tulsa. The Thunder plays a home game for the first time in three weeks on Sunday, playing host to Cincinnati.
