Thunder losing streak reaches six
The Thunder lost its sixth straight game, falling to Colorado 3-2 on Friday night in Littleton, Colo.
The Thunder held the Eagles scoreless in the first and third periods, but a three-goal burst in 7 1/2 minutes of the second period was too much to overcome.
Joey Sides gave Wichita a 1-0 lead at 12:36 of the first period.
The Eagles tied the score on Trent Daavettila’s goal at 3:13 of the second. A shorthanded goal by Everett Sheen made it 2-1 at 5:59, and Joe Zarbo completed Colorado’s run with a goal at 10:42.
The Thunder cut the deficit to 3-2 with Landon Oslanski’s power-play goal at 9:27 of the third period, but couldn’t get the tying score despite a 12-4 shot advantage in the third.
Wichita’s seven-game road trip continues Saturday at Colorado, and concludes next weekend with two games in Tulsa.
