Missouri defeats visiting Thunder
Missouri scored three straight goals in the second period to break open the game and beat the Thunder 5-2 on Saturday night in Independence, Mo.
The Mavericks led 2-1 after the first period. A goal by Carter Verhaeghe made it 3-1 at 4:14 of the second, the Bryce Aneloski and Colin Markison scored 1:39 apart midway through the period to put the Thunder in a four-goal hole.
Ian Lowe scored in the first period for Wichita, and Donnie Harris scored at 17:54 of the second. Both goals came on power plays.
Saturday was the first stop on a seven-game road trip for the Thunder.
