Thunder wins on Gauthier’s hat trick
Danick Gauthier’s third-period hat trick led the Thunder to a 3-1 win over the Beast on Saturday afternoon in Brampton, Ontario.
Playing each other for the second time in 18 hours, the teams grapplied through two scoreless periods.
Calin Wild gave Brampton a 1-0 lead at 8:04 of the third period.
Gauthier tied the score just more than a minute later, then gave Wichita a 2-1 lead with an assist from Ian Lowe at 17:01. Gauthier completed his hat trick with an empty-net goal with 22 seconds left in the game.
