Oilers beat Thunder 4-3 in shootout

Goalie Kevin Carr made 46 saves, leading the Tulsa Oilers to a 4-3 shootout victory over the Thunder on Tuesday night in Tulsa.

Carr stopped all four Thunder shooters in the shootout. Adam Pleskach and T.J. Caig scored on their shootout attempts for the Oilers.

Tulsa led 2-0 after the first period, then made it 3-0 when Jeff Juninville scored at 7:10 of the second period.

The Thunder attack was relentless in the second period, firing 26 shots on goal — Tulsa attempted 22 for the entire game — and finally got on the board with Kirill Tulupov’s power-play goal at 12:11. Ian Lowe made it 3-2 with a goal 45 seconds later. Kenton Miller got the tying goal with 3:19 left in the third period. The Thunder outshot the Oilers 40-9 in the second and third periods.
