Tulupov’s OT goal leads Thunder over Allen
Kirill Tulupov scored with 19 seconds left in overtime, giving the Thunder a 5-4 win over the Americans on Tuesday night in Allen, Texas.
Danick Gauthier had two goals and an assist for Wichita. Each team had two goals with a man-advantage.
The teams alternated scores for the first six goals, then Allen took a 4-3 lead with a power-play goal late in the second period. Mike Wilson made it 4-4 with a power-play goal at 10:01 of the third period.
Grant Rollheiser replaced Tim Boron in goal for the Thunder to start the third period, and he turned aside all 19 shots he faced.
The teams play again on Wednesday at Allen, then on Friday night at Intrust Bank Arena.
