The Wichita Thunder will face six Central Hockey League opponents this season, as the league has trimmed from 10 to seven franchises for 2014-15.

Wichita opens at home Oct. 25 against the league-champion Allen Americans.

Arizona, Denver and St. Charles (Mo.) will not return teams this season. Arizona and Denver announced last week that they were suspending operations for this season in hopes of returning in 2015-16. St. Charles’ franchise folded in May.

The league will not divide the seven remaining teams into divisions this season.

The Thunder plays five of its first seven games at Intrust Bank Arena. The team has six-game road trips in January and March, while its longest homestand is also six games, from mid-February to early March.
