Thunder loses in shootout
Brampton beat the Thunder 5-4 in a shootout Sunday in Brampton, Ontario.
The Beast took a 4-1 lead early in the second period, sending Thunder goalie Tim Boron to the bench after allowing four goals in 10 shots. Grant Rollheiser replaced Boron and stopped all 17 shots he faced in the final 41 minutes.
The Thunder cut the lead to 4-3 before the end of the second period with goals by RG Flath and Dan Milan – his first goal of the season -- then got the tying goal at 17:21 of the third period when Todd Hosmer scored with assists from Nikita Kashirsky and Milan.
Ian Lowe was the only Thunder player to have score in the shootout, while the Beast’s first and fourth shooters scored against Grant Rollheiser.
