B-52s’ comeback sinks Ambush

The B-52s overcame a four-goal deficit in the fourth quarter to force overtime — scoring the tying goal in the final second — then scored again in overtime for a 9-8 win over the Ambush on Saturday night in St. Louis.

John Markey got the game-winner with a bicycle kick goal.

The B-52s have won five in a row, and play at Milwaukee on Sunday.

The Ambush scored four goals in the third period to take a 7-3 lead. Alex Moseley scored twice in the first five minutes of the fourth period, then Kevin Ten Eyck got a power-play goal at 7:58 to pull Wichita within 7-6. St. Louis scored 25 seconds later to reclaim a two-goal edge, but Ten Eyck got another power-play goal at 10:47 to make it 8-7.

St. Louis nearly held off the The B-52s’ sixth-attacker assault, but a goal by Abel Sebele with less than a second left on the clock tied the score 8-8.
