The seven games remaining on the Seattle Impact’s Major Arena Soccer League schedule will be taken over by the Tacoma Stars, a semi-professional team playing in the Western Indoor Soccer League.
The Impact ceased operations following financial troubles, though the Tacoma team will assume the Impact’s name.
Impact owner Dion Earl, 42, played in games and also took over as coach earlier this season, including two losses earlier this month to the Wichita B-52s. In November, Earl was sued by six former employees accusing him of sexually assaulting two members and sexually harassing other members of the female dance team. More than 20 Impact players left the team because of the lawsuit.
