The Aug. 13 championship game of the National Baseball Congress World Series will be televised on ESPNU, the NBC announced Thursday. It’s believed to be the first time the championship game has been televised nationally.

The Kansas Stars, a team made up of mostly major-league alumni, is the drawing card for television. Roger Clemens, Tim Hudson, Josh Beckett are the headliners on the team that opens Saturday night in pool play.

The Stars will have to win their four-team pool to advance to the quarterfinals, then would have to win two more games to be on the TV final, which will start at 7 p.m. Aug. 13. The game will also be on ESPN3.com.
