Thunder power play falls flat in loss
Quad City scored two power play goals late to pull away from the Wichita Thunder for a 5-2 win on Sunday in Moline, Ill.
Tanner Eberle scored two goals in the first period to give Quad City a 2-1 lead. Ian Lowe scored Wichita’s goal in the first period.
Quad City went up 3-1 on a goal by Raphael Bussieres, but Wichita’s Donnie Harris cut the lead to one on a goal with 15:37 left in the second.
Quad City’s two power-play goals in the third period salted the game away, while Wichita went 0 for 6 on power plays, combining for 0 for 10 in the last two games.
The Thunder returns home for games against the Colorado Eagles on Friday and Saturday at Intrust Bank Arena.
