Chiefs linebacker Johnson is on his way to Pro Bowl

Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Derrick Johnson is headed to the Pro Bowl in Hawaii as a replacement for Carolina linebacker Luke Kuechly. Johnson will join five teammates who were selected to play in the game, which kicks off at 6 p.m. Sunday at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu.

Johnson will join five teammates who were selected to play in the game, which kicks off at 6 p.m. Sunday (ESPN) at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu: safety Eric Berry, outside linebacker Justin Houston, outside linebacker Tamba Hali, cornerback Marcus Peters and tight end Travis Kelce.

This will be Johnson’s fourth Pro Bowl appearance.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid and his staff will be assigned to one of the two teams, which will be picked in the Pro Bowl draft on ESPN2 at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Reid’s team will face a team coached by Green Bay’s Mike McCarthy and his staff.

This will mark Reid’s fifth time as a head coach in the Pro Bowl.

He also led the NFC in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2008, back when when the format was conference versus conference.

Reid’s record as a Pro Bowl head coach is 1-3.

Three other Chiefs are alternates for the Pro Bowl: nose tackle Dontari Poe, quarterback Alex Smith and punter Dustin Colquitt.
