Ahead of Super Bowl LX, Chiefs’ Chris Jones made a bold public promise
Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones has never been shy about sharing his opinions on social media.
After a crushing playoff defeat in 2018, Jones assured fans the Chiefs would be in the AFC Championship Game the following season, and that’s just what happened.
Unfortunately, the Chiefs lost to the Patriots in overtime and fell short of the Super Bowl. After that loss, Jones told fans the Chiefs would win it all the following year.
With their 31-20 win over the 49ers in Super Bowl LIV, the Chiefs made good on Jones’ pledge.
Chiefs fans hope the latest prediction by Jones comes true, too.
Shortly before kickoff of Super Bowl LX on Sunday, Jones took to X and wrote: “Took a year off, we will be back to it next year!”
The Chiefs, who are coming off a 6-11 season, had made the Super Bowl five times in the previous six years. A return to the big game would certainly be welcome by the Chiefs and their fans.
Super Bowl LXI will be played at SoFi Stadium on Feb. 14, 2027.
