Going out on a limb here, but we bet you’ve never heard the Chiefs anthem, “Red Kingdom,” and felt moved to samba. Until maybe now.

Ahead of the team’s season opener Friday in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Brazilian singer-songwriter Luisa Sonza recorded the song in Portuguese. Her version, “Red Kingdom BR,” has a sexy beat, blending Brazilian funk and trap with the driving beat of Tech N9ne’s OG version.

She sang the song at a rally for Chiefs fans in Sao Paulo on Thursday. KC Wolf danced with her, twirling her as she sang. (Props to the new mascot inside that bulky costume for some not-so-shabby hip action.)

Gracie Hunt, daughter of Chiefs CEO and co-owner Clark Hunt, posted a snippet of the performance on Instagram.

The song’s music video came out a few days ago and is available on all major digital platforms.

The team considers this a “cultural gateway,” a way to connect with new audiences as the Chiefs extend their fan base beyond those around GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Sonza, 26, is a three-time Latin Grammy nominee who first became popular in 2016 by posting cover songs to her YouTube channel. She now has more than 8 million subscribers.

Today she has more than 3 billion streams across platforms and ranks in the top 50 worldwide on Spotify.

Last year, she sang the Brazilian national anthem at the first NFL game played in Brazil, which pitted the Philadelphia Eagles against the Green Bay Packers in Sao Paulo.

“It’s so special to put my own touch on Tech N9ne’s song, which means so much to Chiefs fans,” she said in a statement on the Chiefs’ website. “Mixing that pure Kansas City energy with Brazilian rhythms was such a unique experience. I can now say I’m officially part of the Chiefs family too. Vai Chiefs!”

That’s “Go Chiefs” in Portuguese.

Tech N9ne signed off on the danceable remix.

“’Red Kingdom’ has been at the heart of KC fandom for years now. I’m so happy to share my song with the team I’ve always loved as they move to an even bigger global stage,” he said in a statement.

“And it’s beautiful hearing it reimagined by a female artist who embodies a whole different culture and energy – L9VE where Luísa took it.”
