Here is who will be performing during pregame and halftime at Super Bowl LIX
For decades, Chiefs fans had reason to be interested more in artist performing in the halftime show of a Super Bowl than the teams that were playing.
That has changed in the Patrick Mahomes era. That’s not to say Chiefs fans won’t be interested in the halftime show of Super Bowl LIX. It’s just that the outcome of the Chiefs’ game against the Eagles will be more important.
The NFL picked a big-name star for the halftime show: rapper Kendrick Lamar. He’ll be joined by Grammy winner SZA.
Like the Chiefs, this won’t be Lamar’s first Super Bowl. He was a guest during the Super Bowl LVI show with Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Dr. Dre and 50 Cent.
Here are the artists who also will be performing at Super Bowl LIX.
National anthem
Five-time Grammy Award winning singer Jon Batiste will perform the national anthem. Batiste was born and raised in Louisiana. Super Bowl LIX will be played at the Superdome in New Orleans.
America The Beautiful
Trombone Shorty, who is a native of New Orleans, will perform “America The Beautiful” before the game with Christian artist Lauren Daigle. Trombone Shorty has won a Grammy Award and Daigle has won twice.
Lift Every Voice and Sing
Another Grammy winner, Ledisi, will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing” before kickoff.
