Chiefs starting left guard Joe Thuney will play vs. 49ers. Here’s the list of inactives
The Chiefs’ starting offensive line will be intact for today’s Week 7 game.
Left guard Joe Thuney is not among the Chiefs’ seven inactive players for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium. Thuney (ankle) entered the weekend as questionable on the injury report.
Thuney was hurt last Sunday against the Buffalo Bills and did not practice Wednesday. He put in a limited practice on Thursday before practicing fully Friday. Thuney’s presence is needed against a stout 49ers defensive front, which has tallied 23 sacks through six games.
Rookie safety Bryan Cook is also active for Sunday’s game. Cook suffered a concussion in Week 5 and did not play in the Chiefs’ loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Cornerback Rashad Fenton (hamstring), defensive end Mike Danna (calf), running back Ronald Jones, quarterback Shane Buechele, defensive end Joshua Kaindoh, rookie offensive lineman Darian Kinnard and rookie defensive back Nazeeh Johnson are inactive.
Danna entered the weekend as questionable after he didn’t practice Wednesday and put in limited workouts on Thursday and Friday. He suffered the calf injury in Week 2 and missed three straight games before returning in Week 6.
With Fenton missing a second straight game, the Chiefs will continue to rely on cornerbacks L’Jarius Sneed, rookie Jaylen Watson, rookie Joshua Williams and Chris Lammons The Chiefs on Saturday bolstered depth at the position group by elevating Dicaprio Bootle from the practice squad to the 53-player roster.
The Chiefs also elevated wide receiver Marcus Kemp from the practice squad, and he’ll contribute on special teams.
For the 49ers, running back Jordan Mason, cornerback Dontae Johnson, defensive lineman Kemoko Turay, offensive lineman Nick Zakelj, tight end Tyler Kroft and defensive lineman Arik Armstead won’t play Sunday.
