KC Chiefs’ Travis Kelce receives third-most votes of any player in final Pro Bowl tally

The NFL on Monday morning released the final voting numbers for the Pro Bowl. And in the ultimate accounting for the 2022 edition of the league’s all-star game, three Chiefs players led their position groups.

Travis Kelce topped all tight ends with 262,540 votes, the third-most for any player at any position group. Only Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (265,370) and San Francisco defensive end Nick Bosa (264,687) tallied more votes than Kelce, who enters Week 16 with 83 catches for 1,066 yards and seven touchdowns.

Rounding out the top Chiefs vote-getters at their respective position groups were safety Tyrann Mathieu (170,939 votes) and rookie center Creed Humphrey (128,608).

Mathieu currently leads the Chiefs’ defense with three interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, and ranks second in total tackles (65). Humphrey, the Chiefs’ second of two second-round picks in the 2021 NFL Draft, is regarded as one of the NFL’s top centers despite the fact that this is his first year in the league.

The Chiefs also led all teams around the league in total votes received, according to the NFL. The Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers rounded out the top five most fan votes.

Pro Bowl roster selection is determined by consensus votes of fans, players and coaches, with each group counting toward one-third of the process.

The NFL is scheduled to announce the complete Pro Bowl rosters on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. Central Time on the NFL Network.

The 2022 Pro Bowl will be held in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium on Feb. 6.
