Chiefs’ Watkins, Ward active vs. Ravens; Wylie taken to hospital with stomach illness
The Chiefs have two important starters available for Monday night’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Wide receiver Sammy Watkins (concussion, neck) and cornerback Charvarius Ward (hand) are active after being listed as questionable on Saturday’s injury report.
Watkins, who was injured in Week 2, didn’t practice Thursday, but was limited Friday before putting in a full practice Saturday.
Ward, who suffered a fractured hand in the season opener, is set to make his return to action after not playing in Week 2.
Starting right guard Andrew Wylie is inactive after showing up to the stadium in Baltimore feeling ill with stomach issues, a source familiar with the situation told The Star. Wylie was then further evaluated before being taken to a local hospital with what the team believes is an appendicitis.
With Wylie out, the Chiefs are likely to turn to veteran Mike Remmers to fill in at right guard.
Linebacker Dorian O’Daniel, who put in a full practice Saturday after missing Friday with a knee injury, is also active after being listed as questionable on Saturday’s final injury report.
The Chiefs’ remaining inactives are defensive end Alex Okafor (hamstring), defensive end Demone Harris, tight end Ricky Seals-Jones and rookie cornerback BoPete Keyes.
Okafor misses a second straight game since suffering the hamstring injury in Week 1, while Harris and Seals-Jones are healthy scratches for a third straight game.
