The season will be on the line for the Wind Surge when they return to Wichita for Game 2 of the Texas League championship series on Tuesday.

Wichita will need two straight wins at Riverfront Stadium this week, as the Wind Surge stare down a 1-0 deficit in the best-of-3 series following an 11-3 road loss to the Frisco RoughRiders on Sunday night.

Frisco claimed a 5-0 lead after two innings of Sunday’s game, knocking Wichita starter Kody Funderburk from the game in the bottom of the second inning.

A solo home run from Yunior Severino cut the deficit to 5-1, but Wichita never recovered from the early hole. Frisco stretched its lead to 11-1 before the Wind Surge could tack on a pair of runs late in the game.

Playing for a Texas League title for the second straight summer, the Wind Surge will look to win the organization’s first trophy starting with Game 2 of the championship series against Frisco at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday with the game broadcast on ESPN Wichita 92.3-FM and streamed on MiLB.com. Tickets starting at $8 for Tuesday’s game can be purchased on the Wind Surge team website.

If Wichita wins on Tuesday, it would set up a decisive Game 3 at Riverfront Stadium at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday.
