Royals co-owner Patrick Mahomes was at home opener with his brother
Chiefs coach Andy Reid provided an update on quarterback Patrick Mahomes while at the NFL League Meeting in Phoenix.
While talking with the NFL Network’s Judy Battista, Reid declined to say when Mahomes might be ready to play.
“He’s doing great,” Reid told Battista. “He spends a ton of time in the building. ... He’s in there for seven hours a day. It’s showing, the progress. Now, to tell you a timeline? I mean, I know what he’s striving for. We’ll just see where it goes from there.”
Mahomes likely was at the Chiefs’ practice facility on Monday, but he made the short trip over to Kauffman Stadium to see the Royals’ home opener against the Twins.
In addition to being a three-time Super Bowl MVP and two-time NFL MVP, Mahomes is part of the Royals’ ownership group. He was joined by friend and former teammate Gehrig Dieter, who is a very public Yankees fan, and brother, Jackson, who has kept a low-profile recently.
Matt Foster of KSHB-TV (Ch. 41) shared a video of Mahomes.
Other images quickly spread across social media.
