See who the Kansas City Royals picked on Day 2 of 2025 MLB Draft, Rounds 4-20

The Kansas City Royals selected a pair of high-upside prep prospects with their top selections in the 2025 MLB Draft on Sunday night.

The Royals drafted outfielder Sean Gamble 23rd overall and shortstop Josh Hammond as their Prospect Promotion Incentive (PPI) selection five slots later.

From there, the Royals added a trio of pitchers to cap Day 1 of the MLB Draft. The club landed five players who have a chance to develop quickly in the KC farm system.

On Monday, Day 2 of the two-day selection process, the Royals added 17 more players during Rounds 4-20.

Here is a rundown of the Royals’ second-day picks:

4th Round: OF Nolan Sailors | Creighton

Nolan Sailors hit .389 with six home runs, 44 RBIs and 27 stolen bases with the Creighton Blue Jays. He grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and made the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Central All-Region second team. Creighton made the NCAA Tournament this year with Sailors leading the way.

5th Round: RHP Aiden Jimenez | Arkansas

Aiden Jimenez posted a 3-1 record with a 3.40 ERA in 22 appearances this season. He logged 40 strikeouts in 42 1/3 innings pitched and also collected a save. Jimenez has an MLB bloodline, too, as his father, Jason, and grandfather, Ken Hottman, played in the majors.

6th Round: SS Tyriq Kemp | Baylor

The Royals went international in the middle of the 2025 MLB Draft. Tyriq Kemp, who is from the Netherlands, hit .358 with seven home runs and 41 RBIs for the Baylor Bears this past season. Kemp also played for the 2022 Dutch National Team during the U23 Baseball World Cup in Mexico.

7th Round: RHP Bryson Dudley | Texas State

Bryson Dudley spent one season at Texas State after beginning his career at Blinn College (also in Texas). It was a terrific 2025 campaign, as he was named to the Sun Belt Conference All-Tournament Team. Dudley posted a 5-1 record with a 3.93 ERA in 29 games. Additionally, he registered 53 strikeouts in 50 1/3 innings.

8th Round: C Brooks Bryan | Troy

The Royals added a new catcher to the mix. Brooks Bryan hit .279 with 12 home runs and 61 RBIs in 60 games for the Troy Trojans this season. It was enough for him to be named an All-Sun Belt Second Team selection.

9th Round: RHP Shane Van Dam | N.C. State

Shane Van Dam recently returned from Tommy John surgery that sidelined him for much of the 2025 season. He posted a 4.58 ERA in 16 games in 2024 before suffering the injury. Van Dam pitched in three games and limited opponents to a .233 batting average post injury.

10th Round: RHP Max Martin | UC Irvine

Max Martin posted a 3.29 ERA in 27 games last season. He recorded 39 strikeouts and just eight walks in 38 1/3 innings of work.

11th Round: RHP Hunter Alberini | Arizona

Right-handed relief pitcher Hunter Alberini played two years at Umpqua Community College and two years at College of Southern Nevada before transferring to Arizona this year. The 6-foot-2, 206-pound junior pitched 20.2 innings this season with a 3.48 ERA.

12th Round: RHP Matthew Hoskins | Georgia

The Royals selected another 6-foot-2 right-handed pitcher, this time a UGA Bulldog. Matthew Hoskins, a 208-pound junior, made 18 appearances during the 2025 season with two starts. He pitched 27.1 innings with a 5.93 ERA.

13th Round: SS Tyson Moran | F.E. Madill (H.S.), Canada

Tyson Moran is a 5-11, 145-pound infielder from Wingham, Ontario in Canada. The 2025 high school graduate has pitched and played shortstop and second base. He is committed to North Dakota State.

14th Round: 1B JC Vanek | Chipola College

JC Vanek is a 6-foot-3 first baseman from Lake Charles, Louisiana. Vanek appeared in 54 games this season. He batted .345 with three home runs and 56 RBIs.

15th Round: 2B Connor Rasmussen | Tulane

During his junior season at Tulane, Rasmussen played in 58 games with five home runs, 71 hits and 45 RBIs while batting .333. He was identified earlier this year as one of the country’s top 10 second basemen, per D1 Baseball.

16th Round: RHP Randy Ramnarace | New Haven

Randy Ramnarace is a 6-foot-1 right-handed pitcher from New York. The junior pitched 32.1 innings with a 2.51 ERA this season at New Haven.

17th Round: OF Luke Nowak | University of Illinois-Chicago

Luke Nowak played three years at East Carolina before arriving at Illinois-Chicago. He hit .387 with five home runs and 37 RBIs in 53 games and showed versatility by playing multiple outfield positions.

18th Round: RHP Grayson Boles | St. Augustine H.S. (California)

Grayson Boles is committed to Texas. His pitching arsenal includes a fastball, slider and changeup.

19th Round: RHP Dylan Wood | Franklin H.S. (California)

Dylan Wood is committed to Arizona. He has projectable big-league skills at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds.

20th Round: RHP Kamden Edge | Northern Oklahoma College

Kamden Edge stands 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds. The Royals will look to get him into their minor-league system and help him develop as a pitcher.
