Goddard police finish investigation into allegation of football player punching an official
The Goddard police department has finished its investigation into the allegation made by a football official that a Goddard player punched him in the stomach at the end of the Heights-Goddard Class 5A playoff game Friday night.
Official Ryan Storck filed a police report Monday and told the police that while trying to break up an altercation between the two teams, he separated the Goddard player, who then punched him as he walked back to the Goddard sideline.
Goddard police Lt. Lance Beagley said the report will be turned over to the Sedgwick County district attorney’s office, which decides whether to file charges.
