Other softball: Pratt advances past Hayden
Pratt advanced to the semifinals of the Class 4A-II softball tournament with a 9-3 victory over Topeka Hayden on Thursday evening in Emporia.

Pratt (20-1) will face the winner of Thursday’s late Girard-Clay Center game in Friday morning’s semifinal.
Haven 14, Goodland 0 — Haven scored nine runs over the first two innings to cruise into Friday’s semifinal round. The Wildcats (20-3) will meet the winner of Thursday’s late Prairie View-Burlington game.
Class 2-1A: Pittsburg Colgan 11, Sedan 6 — In perhaps the biggest upset of the softball quarterfinals, a 4-19 Colgan team knocked off top-seed Sedan (21-2) in the quarterfinals in Pratt.
Chase County 6, Sacred Heart 0 — Daryn Crawford struck out 13 batters as part of a three-hitter, advancing Chase County to Friday’s semifinals. Chase County will meet the winner of Thursday’s late Bluestem-Wabaunsee game.
