Wichita State basketball coach Gregg Marshall dropped “Straight cash, homey” on Jim Rome’s radio show Tuesday.
Perhaps we’ve found this season’s catch phrase, in the vein of “Play Angry” and “Are you satisfied?”
“Straight cash, homey” comes from the Randy Moss lexicon and Marshall said his wife, Lynn, asked him to insert that phrase into Tuesday’s interview. Lynn and son Kellen Marshall are big Rome fans. Gregg Marshall knows Moss from his days as an assistant coach at Marshall, where Moss played football.
Marshall said Moss used the “Straight cash, homey” on Rome’s show to explain how he pays his bills as a wealthy NFL star. Marshall smoothly slid it in when describing Fred VanVleet penetrating the defense and passing to Ron Baker for an open shot that is “Straight cash, homey.”

On Wednesday, Marshall said his wife told him Shockers fans in Target approached her and said “Straight cash, homey.”
