Maize’s Lungwitz commits to baseball and Wichita State
Maize senior Connor Lungwitz announced that he will pitch for Wichita State instead of playing football at another school on his Twitter account on Monday night.
Lungwitz, a 6-foot-5 right-hander, first gave WSU a non-binding commitment around a year ago, but kept his options open for football. He plays quarterback at Maize. On Monday, he committed to baseball. The signing period begins Wednesday.
“After thinking long and hard about my decision to play football or baseball, I have decided to sign with WSU baseball in the coming days,” he wrote on Twitter.
In October, Lungwitz talked to The Eagle’s Bob Lutz about playing three sports.
WSU’s other baseball commitments can be found here.
