Wichita State and Oklahoma State will begin a men’s basketball series at Intrust Bank Arena on Dec. 17, according to an athletic department source.

The Shockers will return the game to Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater on Dec. 9, 2017.

The schools last met in 2002 to end a four-season series.

WSU will play Oklahoma at Chesapeake Energy Center on Dec. 10, also the start of a home-and-home series that will include a 2017 game at Intrust Bank Arena.

WSU will play at Colorado State on Dec. 3 in the Mountain West-Missouri Valley Challenge Series. Saint Louis, Tulsa and South Dakota State are scheduled to visit Koch Arena.

In November, WSU plays in the Battle 4 Atlantis as part of a field that includes Michigan State, Louisville, Baylor, LSU, VCU, Saint John’s and Old Dominion.

Oklahoma State defeated WSU 68-58 at the Kansas Coliseum in 2002, ending a series in which the Cowboys won three of the meetings. The Shockers defeated OSU 61-59 in 2000 in Wichita, early in coach Mark Turgeon’s first season.

OSU leads the series 29-8.
