Wichita State wins MVC All-Sports Trophy for fourth consecutive season
Wichita State won a record nine Missouri Valley Conference titles to claim the MVC’s All-Sports trophy for a fourth consecutive season and the 10th in the past 13.
The Shockers finished in the top three of the Valley standings in 13 of its 15 spots to finish with an average score of 2.13, matching its MVC record from the 2013-14 season. Southern Illinois finished second (3.5) with three titles, followed by Illinois State (4.3), Missouri State (4.8) and Northern Iowa (4.9). The MVC releases the top five finishers.
WSU won titles in volleyball, men’s basketball, women’s golf, men’s indoor and outdoor track, women’s outdoor track, men’s and women’s tennis and softball. The total of nine passes WSU’s mark of eight titles in 2013-14.
WSU has won 22 All-Sports titles, most of any conference school.
