Shockers improve to 5-0 in MVC

The Wichita State women defeated Loyola 65-41 on Sunday afternoon in Chicago.

Alie Decker led WSU (14-3, 5-0 MVC) with 15 points. Kelsey Jacobs chipped in with 10 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double, and also had seven assists.

The Shockers led just 25-23 at halftime, but outscored Loyola 40-18 in the second half. WSU coach Jody Adams took a timeout just 45 seconds in, and her team responded with an 8-2 run.

Becca Smith led Loyola (2-15, 0-6) with nine points.

The Shockers return home Friday to host Illinois State, with tipoff set for 7 p.m.
