WSU women win seventh straight

The Wichita State women’s basketball team won its seventh straight game, beating Bradley 61-45 on Friday night in Peoria, Ill.

The Shockers won despite a poor shooting night — WSU made 36 percent (18 of 50) of its shots for the game but never trailed. No Shocker made more than half her shots. But WSU made up for it on defense, holding Bradley to 27.3 percent (15 of 55).

Jamillah Bonner led the Shockers with 15 points, and Kelsey Jacobs added 12.

Wichita State (13-3, 4-0 MVC) will play at Loyola on Sunday.
