About 300 Shocker fans endured winter-like temperatures to greet members of the Wichita State men’s basketball team as they returned to Koch Arena late Saturday.
The Shockers were defeated by the Miami Hurricanes in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday.
The 65-57 game in Providence, R.I., ended the Shocker careers of Ron Baker and Fred VanVleet, who led Wichita State to the 2013 Final Four, 35 straight wins, a No. 1 seed in 2014 and a Sweet 16 appearance in 2015.
After the game, players thanked their fans through social media.
When great things end, that's when you look back on them the most.. Wow, what a blessing EVERYONE of you have been to me
