Wichita State returns to coaches basketball poll at No. 23

Wichita State returned to the national rankings at No. 23 in the USA Today coaches poll on Monday.

Kansas is No. 1 in both polls. It received 31 of 32 first-place votes in the coaches poll.

The Shockers (23-7) are not ranked in the Associated Press poll, sitting three spots out of the poll with 43 points

The Shockers fell out of the national polls for the second time on Feb. 15 after spending six weeks in both.

WSU peaked at No. 9 in the AP poll and No. 11 in the coaches poll on Nov. 16.

Grady honored — WSU senior Anton Grady earned Missouri Valley Conference newcomer of the week honors after averaging 16.5 points and 5 rebounds in wins over Loyola and Illinois State last week.

Grady, from Cleveland, made 11 of 16 shots in the two games.
