Wichita State softball goes unbeaten in South Alabama Invitational
Wichita State’s softball team defeated Bowling Green 11-3 on Sunday to win the South Alabama Invitational in Mobile, Ala.
The Shockers (8-6) went 4-0 in the tournament and outscored their opponents 29-8. They have won five straight games.
Bethany Canada’s two-run double gave WSU a 6-0 lead in the third inning on Sunday. Cacy Williams also doubled to drive in a run, scored a run and went 2 for 3.
Pitcher Katie Malone held Bowling Green (5-8) scoreless until the fifth inning. She allowed four hits and struck out three in 4 2/3 innings.
WSU plays a three-game series at Nebraska beginning Saturday.
